Lucknow: The Higher Education Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh has organized a four-day training workshop on Finance and Accounts Module (FSCM and Bill Tracking, Payroll Module, Inventory and Asset Management System) for the implementation of Samarth ERP Portal for the officers and employees of state universities from 05 August 2024 to 08 August 2024 at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow.
On the second day of the workshop, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay highlighted the importance of Samarth ERP and the progress of its implementation. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, work is being done to connect higher education with technology. SAMARTH e&Gov (ERP) is an e-governance platform developed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and Delhi University, Delhi. Its main objective is to automate the processes of higher educational institutions, so that there can be seamless access to information and increase productivity in the processes.
He said that at present Samarth ERP is being implemented in 26 state universities of the state. Out of these, the leave module has been implemented in 22 universities, the configuration of the payroll module has been completed in 24 universities, and the salary for July 2024 has been generated by 14 universities through Samarth ERP. Apart from this, 19 universities have uploaded the details of more than 7000 affiliated colleges on their Samarth portal, and 8 universities have gone live through Samarth ERP for the admission process.
Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari said that the future of the children is being given priority by improving the Higher Education Department further. University officials should work to connect their university with Samarth ERP through this workshop.
The Samarth team has developed the Career Advancement System (CAS) for the state colleges of the state as per the state’s requirement and made it available to the Directorate of Higher Education, Prayagraj. The objective of this training/workshop is to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience to the officers and employees of the administrative and finance/accounting cadre of state universities, so that they can effectively use the finance and accounts module of Samarth ERP.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary M.P. Agarwal, Special Secretary Girijesh Tyagi, Shipu Giri and other university officials were present.
