Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government is increasing the greenery that has decreased in cities due to urbanization and development. The Yogi government, which planted more than 36.51 crore saplings in a single day on July 20, is now going to launch the “Upvan Yojana” to make the municipal corporation areas green. The Varanasi Municipal Corporation will launch the “Upvan Yojana” by planting 148 saplings near Kanchanpur and Sarang pond.

Long-lived plants will be planted at both these places. At these sites, plantation will be done using Miyawaki technique on 1 acre of land and open gyms, walking tracks, exercise places etc. will be constructed at the remaining places. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath can start the ‘Upvan Yojana’ by planting trees in the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 74th birthday.

Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma said that under the ‘Upvan Yojana’ by the Municipal Corporation, 74 saplings will be planted in Kanchanpur Park and 74 large saplings near Sarang pond. Long-lived plants will be planted at both these places. It will have plants of neem, banyan, pakkad, peepal etc. Tree-guards will be deployed for the protection of the plants and gardeners for their care.

To deal with the dangers of global warming, the Yogi government is running a plantation campaign across the state. In Varanasi, a natural oxygen bank is being developed in the middle of the city using Miyawaki technology, so that along with environmental protection, people can also get pure air. While pollution is increasing in urban areas due to increasing number of vehicles and other reasons, the Yogi government is taking measures to prevent air pollution in such places through “Upvan Yojana” etc.
