Adarsh Bhasin Memorial AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Under-18 Tennis Tournament
Sanidhya D. Dwivedi and Aniruddh Enter Boys’ Singles Semifinals
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Aashi Shamesari pulled off a stunning upset to secure a place in the girls’ singles final of the Adarsh Bhasin Memorial AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Under-18 Tennis Tournament. She defeated top-seeded Pari from Bihar in a thrilling match.
The tournament, organized under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association and hosted at the SDS (Sports Development Society) Tennis Academy in Vijayant Khand Stadium, Gomtinagar, also saw intense battles in the boys’ singles quarterfinals. Delhi’s Hans Anand caused an upset by defeating fourth-seeded UP player Mehr S. Khosla in a three-set encounter, winning 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
In the first girls’ singles semifinal, Aashi Shamesari showcased excellent forehand and backhand strokes to outplay Bihar’s top seed Pari 6-1, 7-5, marking her second consecutive upset victory.
The second semifinal in the same category saw Uttar Pradesh’s Siddhi Singh put up a dominant performance at the net and with her service, clinching a hard-fought victory against UP’s Ayra in a double tiebreaker. Siddhi won 6-3, 6-7(5), 7-6(5).
In the boys’ singles quarterfinals, top-seeded Sanidhya D. Dwivedi from Uttar Pradesh secured a tiebreaker victory over fifth-seeded Anuj, winning 6-2, 7-6(2).
In another quarterfinal, Delhi’s Hans Anand continued his impressive run by defeating UP’s fourth seed Mehr S. Khosla 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.

Maharashtra’s Aditya claimed a commanding 6-1, 6-2 victory over UP’s Kinjalk in the third quarterfinal.
In the fourth quarterfinal, seventh-seeded Aniruddh Kumar from UP advanced after his opponent, third-seeded Rohin Raj from UP, retired at 4-2.
The boys’ doubles quarterfinals also took place today, where top-seeded Anuj and Aniruddh defeated Ansh and Anurag 6-1, 7-5. Anarv and Shreyansh outplayed Anay and Hasan 7-6, 6-4.
In another upset, Mehr and Kaustubh triumphed over second-seeded Kinjalk and Rishant 7-5, 6-2. Meanwhile, Saroj and Harsh received a walkover against Arjun and Rohin.
The tournament continues to witness thrilling matches, with the finals promising high-intensity action.
