UPMRC’s collaboration reinforces its dedication to fostering a safer and more informed society.
Lucknow: UPMRC in collaboration with Hum Raahi Foundation is conducting a three-day awareness campaign focused on self-defense training and educating commuters on women’s rights. The initiative, aligned with UPMRC’s commitment to ensuring a secure travel environment, aims to empower women and vulnerable groups with knowledge and skills for their safety. The awareness session has started from today and going to last for 2 day which is 28 February,2025 and 1 march 2025.
The awareness sessions, held at key metro stations, covered topics such as self-defense techniques, legal rights, and measures to combat sexual abuse and harassment. With Mission Kawach, Hum Raahi Foundation is undertaking an ambitious goal to reach 50,000 women and children across Uttar Pradesh, raising awareness about sexual abuse while equipping them with self-defense skills. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) operates a world-class metro system dedicated to providing a safe, reliable, and inclusive mode of public transport.
The awareness campaign, which commenced on February 27, will continue over the next two days at prominent metro stations, including Hazratganj, Hussainganj, Charbagh, Alambagh, Singar Nagar, and Krishna Nagar. Passengers are encouraged to participate in the remaining sessions and become active contributors in making public spaces safer for all.
UPMRC’s Managing Director, Mr. Sushil Kumar, stated “UPMRC is deeply committed to ensuring the safety and security of its passengers. Through this collaboration with Hum Raahi Foundation, we aim to empower women and vulnerable groups with essential self-defense skills and awareness about their rights.
