Lucknow: The UP International Trade Show 2024 has propelled Uttar Pradesh to new heights, establishing the state as a global trade hub and showcasing its growing industrial prowess. The show, a monumental success, saw a participation surge of 48.91% compared to last year, with 4,25,268 attendees. MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Silk Industry, Handloom and Textiles Minister Rakesh Sachan expressed his gratitude for the success, emphasizing the growing global recognition of UP’s industries.

Minister Sachan shared that the trade show saw significant growth in both the B2B (Business to Business) and B2C (Business to Customer) sectors. A total of 1,03,688 B2B participants, a 42.84% rise, and 3,21,580 B2C participants, a 50.98% increase, underscored the event’s impact on the state’s industrial development. More than 2,500 exhibitors, an increase from last year’s 2,000, showcased their products, while over 500 foreign buyers from more than 70 countries attended the event, further boosting international trade ties. Particularly, Uttar Pradesh’s trade relations with Vietnam were strengthened, with potential investments in tourism and textiles being discussed.

Minister Sachan also revealed that business leads worth over ₹10,000 crore were generated during the event, providing a significant boost to the state’s economy. The inclusion of defense manufacturing, e-commerce, and forest products sectors expanded the scope of the trade show, offering new opportunities for local industries. Moreover, orders worth ₹5 crore each for jute bags and Varanasi’s famed pink meenakari highlighted the global appreciation for UP’s craftsmanship.

Division-Level Trade Shows Planned
Encouraged by the success of the UP International Trade Show, the Yogi Adityanath-led government is now gearing up to organize similar events at the divisional level. The initial plan includes hosting trade shows in Greater Noida, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Agra. Exhibition centers will be set up in these divisions to provide a platform for local industries and artisans, further expanding the state’s economic reach.

Strengthened Ties with Vietnam
Vietnam’s participation as a partner country at the trade show has opened new avenues for collaboration in tourism and textiles. Vietnam has expressed interest in investing in Uttar Pradesh’s tourism sector, particularly in the Buddhist Circuit. This partnership is expected to further boost the state’s international trade footprint.

Minister Sachan concluded by stating that the continued joint efforts of the government, coupled with trade shows like UPITS 2024, are key to accelerating industrial activities, generating employment, and strengthening the economic condition of Uttar Pradesh. The state is steadily cementing its position as a major business hub on both national and international platforms, driving its vision of achieving a $1 trillion economy.
