Lucknow: The Yogi government is determined to make Uttar Pradesh a ‘Uttam Pradesh’. The state government will soon launch a large-scale awareness campaign to promote awareness about the ‘Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Rooftop Solar Scheme’ (PM Surya Ghar Yojana) in Ayodhya, Varanasi and Gorakhpur. This awareness campaign will be based on the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) module.

A state government spokesperson said on Saturday that the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Agency (UPNEDA) has started work on the action plan prepared as per the vision of CM Yogi to complete this work. An amount of Rs 02 crore will be spent for the proper operation of this two-month long massive campaign and a firm will be empanelled to complete this work, the process of appointment and allocation of work has been started by UPNEDA.

Spread of widespread public awareness will be targeted

Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) wants to promote the acceptance of Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Rooftop Solar Yojana (PM Surya Ghar Yojana) in the major cities of the state Ayodhya, Varanasi and Gorakhpur by increasing public awareness and accelerate the number of beneficiaries under the scheme. To achieve this objective and to increase the reach to the public, IMC activities will be carried out on a large scale. This includes processes like displaying banners, installing billboards at strategic locations, setting up booth camps, programs and activities organized in universities, colleges and schools as well as pamphlet distribution.

Banner-poster billboards will be displayed at strategically prominent locations

UPNEDA is targeting publicity through various means along with advertising in radio and newspapers in Ayodhya, Gorakhpur and Varanasi. In this sequence, banners, standees, billboards and booth camps will be installed at strategically prominent locations with high footfall including Vikas Bhawan, Discom Billing Office, Divisional Office and Sub Station, Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, the backside of 150 auto rickshaws and 150 e-rickshaws and vehicles will be covered. At the same time, 4 vendor training programs will be organized in Ayodhya, 4 in Gorakhpur and 2 in Varanasi.

Focus on dissemination through 10 Surya Rath, ‘Solar Mela’ will also become a medium

The spokesperson of the state government said that awareness will be spread through programs in Chamber of Commerce, Bar Association, Red Cross and CA Societies. At the same time, awareness campaigns will be run in Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Ayodhya University, Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University and other famous colleges and schools and the cooperation of professors, teachers, staff and students will be taken.

At the same time, three solar energy enabled mobile vehicles (Surya Rath) in Ayodhya, four in Gorakhpur and one in Varanasi will be displayed at prominent places in the city. As per the need, processes like door to door campaigns can also be completed through them. At the same time, a solar fair will also be organized in the three identified cities through which the general public will be made aware of the central and state schemes promoting solar and other clean energy.

It is worth mentioning that the process of developing Ayodhya and Varanasi as solar cities is already underway, in such a situation, through a comprehensive campaign, the way has been paved for increasing awareness and wide publicity of solar energy in Gorakhpur as well.
