Lucknow: Starting April 1, toll rates across various districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Varanasi, and Purvanchal, will be increased. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a notification announcing the revised toll rates for the 2025-26 financial year. These new rates will come into effect from midnight on March 31.
The toll hike will impact vehicles traveling through major routes, including Varanasi, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Lucknow, Nawabganj, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, and Raebareli. On average, around 1 million vehicles pass through these toll plazas daily. The increased toll charges range from ₹5 to ₹10, and monthly pass rates have also been revised upward.
According to NHAI Project Director Saurabh Chaurasia, toll rates are revised annually as per government regulations. From midnight on March 31, commuters passing through toll plazas in Lucknow Periphery, Unnao’s Nawabganj, Barabanki’s Ahmadpur, Bara, Shahabpur, Ayodhya’s Raunahi, Lucknow’s Dakhina, Bahraich’s Ani, Gulalpurwa, Dularpur, Balrampur’s Badagaon, and Sultanpur’s Asroga will have to pay the revised charges.
The toll increase is expected to impact daily commuters and transporters, adding to the overall travel costs across key routes in Uttar Pradesh.
