Lucknow: At Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar nursery children joyfully celebrated Janmashtami at school. The day began with the little ones arriving dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha. The Krishnas looked charming with peacock feathers adorning their heads and flutes in hand, while the Radhas were beautiful in their ethnic attire.
The celebration included listening to the story of Krishna’s birth, the tyranny of King Kans, and how young Krishna grew up in Gokul with a fondness for butter. These tales were vividly brought to life through a special ‘jhanki’ setup in the activity room. The children were fascinated by the display and eagerly asked questions.
The festivities continued with a butter churning activity, where the children pounded mishri and mixed it with curd to make fresh butter. This activity introduced them to new vocabulary words such as churning, mortar, pestle, and earthenware.
