Lucknow — In a significant move towards recognizing and empowering sanitation workers, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, organized a national-level celebration of NAMASTE Day at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The event witnessed the active participation of SUEZ and the Jal Kal Department, both of which play a vital role in the city’s sanitation infrastructure. Lucknow: Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, announced the expansion of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) coverage to 15 more districts in Uttar Pradesh. With this notification, 74 out of 75 districts in the state are now fully covered under the ESI scheme, benefiting 30.08 lakh insured persons and 1.16 crore beneficiaries. The newly notified districts—Ambedkar Nagar, Auraiya, Bahraich, Gonda, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Kannauj, Maharajganj, Mahoba, Pilibhit, Siddharthnagar, Shamli, Pratapgarh, Kasganj, and Shravasti—add 53,987 new insured individuals to the ESIC network.
