Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed strict and continuous action against those who use drones to incite fear and panic. Chairing a high-level meeting via video conferencing at his official residence, the CM reviewed flood situations, law and order in view of upcoming festivals, drone usage, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, and operations of the Basic Education Department.
The CM expressed concern over recent drone-related rumors in western UP districts and instructed police officials to act decisively. DGP Rajeev Krishna briefed that under the 2023 drone policy, 17 FIRs have been registered and 29 individuals arrested so far for misuse of drones. Authorities have been empowered to declare permanent red zones for up to 96 hours in sensitive areas.
CM Yogi emphasized, “No individual should fall victim to mob violence. Police beat constables must make residents aware and encourage them to stay vigilant. Misinformation must be curbed through awareness and increased patrolling.” He added that drones without valid permissions must be seized and the owners’ properties confiscated if found guilty of spreading fear. Any untoward incident due to such acts will lead to strict action against the concerned SHO and district officials.

In his broader review, the CM directed flood-affected district officials to speed up relief operations, ensure women’s safety in flood shelters, and provide adequate nutrition and medical aid. He also stressed the need for sturdy boats during rescue operations and barred the use of smaller, unsafe vessels.
The CM announced free bus travel for women on Raksha Bandhan from August 8 to 10 via UPSRTC and city services. He also called for grand preparations for Krishna Janmashtami, Independence Day, and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, urging maximum public participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which aims to hoist over 4.6 crore flags across the state this year.
