Lucknow/Greater Noida: The Yogi Adityanath government, which is playing an important role in making India the third largest economic power in the world by implementing the Semiconductor Policy for the first time in the country, has taken another major initiative in this direction. Under this initiative, the Yogi government is now going to set up Uttar Pradesh’s first semiconductor park near the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar, Greater Noida, UP. The state government plans to set up semiconductor parks in Sector 10 and Sector 28 under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
Through this initiative, big chip manufacturing companies of the country and the world will be attracted to set up their enterprises in Uttar Pradesh. Also, employment will also be created for the youth of UP on a large scale. It is noteworthy that the Yogi government has implemented the Semiconductor Policy to encourage investors to set up semiconductor industry in Uttar Pradesh, through which relief is being provided on a large scale.
Two clusters will be established
Talking about the silent features of semiconductor parks, under this, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has marked land for two semiconductor clusters. The first includes 200 acres of land in Sector 10, while the second includes 125 acres of land in Sector 28. YIDA will set up a water treatment plant of 8 MLD in both these clusters, while a sewage treatment plant (STP) of 60 MLD will be installed. At the same time, there is also a plan to set up 400/200/132 kV substations to ensure power supply to the clusters. Apart from this, entrepreneurs investing in semiconductor parks will get the facility of multimodal connectivity.
These clusters to be set up in Sector 10 and 28 are just 4 km away from Noida International Airport. Due to which cargo will be able to reach here in minutes and investors and foreign buyers will not have any problem in coming and going here. Apart from this, the facility of Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) will also start here soon. For this, the process of approval of DPR from the Uttar Pradesh government has been completed. At the same time, there is a plan for high speed rail between Delhi and Varanasi, one of whose stations will also be Noida Airport. Apart from this, an interchange of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has also been built in Yamuna Expressway, which will also make connectivity with these big cities easier.
Industries are being encouraged by implementing semiconductor policy
There are immense possibilities of semiconductor manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh. The Yogi government has emphasized on creating a semiconductor ecosystem to encourage investors to invest in this sector. For this, a semiconductor policy has been implemented for the first time in the state. Under the UP Semiconductor Policy, a provision of 50 percent additional capital subsidy has been made on the capital subsidy approved by the Government of India. Apart from this, a land rebate of 75% has also been provided in the policy for compound semiconductors / silicon photonics / sensors / ATMP / OSAT. Along with dual grid network, 100% exemption in electricity duty is being provided for 10 years.
Apart from this, provision has also been made for 50% exemption in inter-state power purchase, transmission and wheeling charges for 25 years, 100% exemption on stamp duty and registration fees and 5% interest subsidy per year (maximum Rs. 7 crores).
