Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s Winter Session has begun amidst heightened political activity, with the Congress party organizing a large-scale protest against the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Lucknow. The demonstration, scheduled for Wednesday, is expected to draw significant participation from Congress workers across the state, focusing on issues such as unemployment, inflation, communal politics, energy shortages, healthcare, education, and the recent Sambhal violence.

    Senior Congress leaders, including state president Ajay Rai, Dinesh Singh, and outgoing General Secretary Anil Yadav, are spearheading the protest.   • Second Supplemental Budget: Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented a second supplemental budget of ₹17,865.72 crore, with ₹790.49 crore allocated for new initiatives in industry and agriculture.
  • State Challenges: The Assembly is also addressing the Sambhal unrest, anti-encroachment drives, preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela, and the tragic Jhansi hospital fire incident that claimed the lives of several newborns.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the session and is expected to respond to the issues raised by the opposition. Meanwhile, Congress’s demonstration signals a bid to intensify its political presence in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the upcoming elections.
