Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government is going to conduct a virtual evaluation for the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Till now, the NQAS team used to go and physically verify these health units. This process used to take a lot of time. With this decision of the Yogi government, the number of NQAS certified Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will increase rapidly. This will help in improving the quality of health services.
Letter issued to all the District Magistrates, Additional Directors and CMOs of the state
The number of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the country is more than 1.70 lakh. At the same time, more than 17 thousand Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are functional in Uttar Pradesh. The Union Health Ministry has recently launched ‘Ayushman Bharat, Quality Health’, this is also a big change in it. Two other initiatives have also been taken, which include a dashboard for Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) and smart food license for food vendors. Apart from this, revised guidelines have been issued for NAQAS and Kayakalp Certificate for Integrated Public Health Laboratories. The objective of launching virtual assessment and dashboard for NAQAS certification of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs is to increase the access of common people to health care and provide quality health care. In the virtual visit, interaction with patients, employees and community people can also be done.
Mission Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Pinky Jowal has issued a letter in this regard to all the District Magistrates, Additional Directors and CMOs of the state. In the letter, it has been instructed that virtual assessment of 10 to 20 medical units must be done every month in each district. He said that this is a commendable decision of the Union Health Ministry in view of getting 50 percent of the health units of the state certified as NAQAS by the year 2025 and all the health units of the state by the year 2026. With this, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs located in remote areas will also be evaluated.
So far 275 medical units have received the NAQAS certificate. Dr. Nishant Kumar Jaiswal, General Manager of National Health Mission, said that so far 275 medical units of the state have received NAQAS certification, which includes 56 district level, 42 community health centers and 24 primary health centers and every possible effort is being made to bring the same number of units under its purview in the next three months. He said that the central government provides this certificate only to those health units which treat and care for patients according to the standards. The health units which will be NAQAS certified will also get increased facilities for the local people in those units. He said that the National Health System Resource Center (NHSRC), the organization that gives NAQAS certificate, has recently received the international ISQUAEEA accreditation. This means that NAQAS is not only a certificate of international standard but NHSRC is also an organization that complies with international standards.
