Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the terrorist attack at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall was carried out by radical Islamists, but many questions remain.
“We know that the crime was committed by radical Islamists, whose ideology the Islamic world itself is fighting,” Putin said at a meeting on steps taken after the terrorist attack.
The Russian president said it is already known who carried out the terrorist attack, but now “we are interested in knowing who ordered the attack”, Xinhua news agency reported.
He said that America is trying to convince everyone that Kyiv has no role in the genocide.
Putin believes that questions still remain. “Many questions need to be answered. For example, whether radical, even terrorist, Islamic organizations really wanted to attack Russia,” he said.
Putin also said that it is necessary to answer the question why the terrorists tried to go to Ukraine after the attack on the Crocus Hall and who was waiting for them there.
Putin described the attack as an act of intimidation and said, “The question is who was to benefit from this.”
Putin said the investigation into the terrorist attack should be conducted professionally, impartially and without any political bias.
