Lucknow: : On 20th August 2024, World Mosquito Day is celebrated at the global level. In this series, in collaboration with HCL Foundation and Municipal Corporation, PSI India organized World Mosquito Day events in Kanhaiya Madhavpur Pratham and Mallahitola Wards of Lucknow in the presence of the Ward Councillor (Kanhaiya Madhavpur Pratham).
In which, Ward Councillor Ram Naresh Chourasiya, along with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation team, inaugurated the program by spraying anti-larvae around the drains and water stand posts of the streets of the community to prevent mosquitoes and to stop their breeding.
Taking this program forward, Lucknow Nagar Nigam team cleaned the drains, streets and GVP to protect the people living in the community from mosquitoes and the diseases caused by them. Along with this, keeping in mind the better health of the people, APSI PSI India team went door to door and made people aware about the dangerous and life threatening diseases (malaria, dengue and chikungunya) spread by mosquitoes and ways to prevent them through flash cards and videos.
Its main objective was to work in collaboration with HCL Foundation and Lucknow Municipal Corporation to control the mosquito population and prevent the risk of diseases and to create awareness to keep the community safe from diseases like malaria, dengue and chikungunya.
