New Railway Stations to help ease Charbagh load

Lucknow: The development of five new railway stations on Lucknow’s outskirts marks a transformative step toward alleviating passenger congestion at Charbagh Station and Lucknow Junction. These upcoming hubs—Malhaur, Alamnagar, Manaknagar, Transport Nagar, and Uttaretia—will strategically serve as directional terminals, handling specific train routes and significantly improving the city’s railway infrastructure.

Reducing the Load on Charbagh

Charbagh, currently managing over 257 trains daily and catering to around 1.25 lakh passengers, is Lucknow’s largest and busiest station. With the operationalization of these new stations, long-distance trains heading to major destinations such as Moradabad, Delhi, Varanasi, and Prayagraj will be redirected, offering passengers greater convenience and reducing travel time for those residing near these stops.

Enhanced Passenger Amenities

The new stations will boast modern facilities, including:

  • Elevators and escalators for improved accessibility.
  • Water vending machines for affordable drinking water.
  • Automated ticketing systems to streamline ticket purchases.

Complementary Upgrades Across the Network

Alongside these new developments, existing stations like Badshah Nagar, Aish Bagh, and Daliganj will undergo significant enhancements. These upgrades aim to streamline operations, reduce overcrowding, and improve the overall passenger experience.

This extensive infrastructure revamp underscores Lucknow’s growing prominence as a key railway hub and promises better travel experiences for its residents and visitors.
