A.K. Sharma, the State Minister for Urban Development and Energy, emphasized the significance of the Mahakumbh as a confluence that unites humanity in a shared thread of spirituality and devotion.

The Mahakumbh is set to witness an estimated attendance of over 45 crore devotees by February 26, 2025. Already, more than 7 crore people have taken a holy dip in the sacred waters of the Sangam. This year’s Mahakumbh holds special significance, as it marks a rare celestial alignment occurring after 144 years, drawing immense interest from devotees worldwide.

Spanning 4,000 hectares, the Mahakumbh grounds have been meticulously prepared to cater to the diverse needs of visitors. Shri Sharma highlighted the inclusive arrangements, such as free meals for all visitors, transcending barriers of caste and creed.

On January 29, 2025, during the second Shahi Snan on Mauni Amavasya, a massive turnout of devotees is expected. Comprehensive preparations have been made to ensure a seamless experience for all.

  • AI-Powered Surveillance: Over 2,700 AI-powered cameras and drone-mounted cameras monitor the sprawling fairgrounds to ensure safety and crowd management.
  • GIS Mapping: More than 50,000 GIS-mapped QR-coded poles have been installed to assist visitors in locating their loved ones and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Water and Sanitation: The installation of 250 water ATMs, 58,000 water taps, and over 1.5 lakh toilets ensures convenience for visitors. More than 15,000 sanitation workers and 1,000 machines maintain cleanliness across the venue.
  • Shelters and Accessibility: Thousands of tents and pavilions provide accommodation, while dustbins and modern waste management systems uphold environmental hygiene.
