- Saints Perform Symbolic Bath, Pray for Global Welfare
Mahakumbh Nagar: The sacred festival of Mauni Amavasya has transformed Prayagraj into an ocean of faith as devotees flock to the city for a holy dip in the Sangam. In light of the swelling crowd, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with prominent saints, has issued an appeal to devotees. CM Yogi has urged everyone to bathe at the nearest ghat instead of attempting to reach the Sangam Nose. Several ghats have been designated for bathing, offering convenience and safety for devotees. He also requested people to strictly follow the directions issued by the mela administration and avoid falling prey to any rumors.
Avoid Insisting on Bathing at Sangam
In addition to CM Yogi, spiritual leaders have also appealed to devotees. Swami Rambhadracharya, addressing the gathering, urged people to forgo their insistence on bathing at the Sangam and instead use the nearest ghats. He advised devotees to remain within their camps and prioritize their safety and that of others. As a leading saint of the Vaishnav sect, Swami Rambhadracharya called on all akharas and devotees to stay vigilant and ignore any misleading information.
Practice Self-Discipline and Bathe Carefully
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev stated that, considering the massive influx of devotees, he and other saints performed only a symbolic dip while praying for the welfare of the nation and the world. He urged people not to get carried away in their devotion but to maintain self-discipline and bathe with caution. Similarly, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri of the Juna Akhara mentioned that the saints had undertaken a symbolic bath, keeping safety in mind.

Devotee Safety is the Top Priority
Akhara Parishad President Ravindra Puri highlighted that over 12 crore devotees have gathered in Prayagraj for Mauni Amavasya. Managing such a large crowd is a challenging task, especially with lakhs of saints in attendance. He emphasized that ensuring the safety of devotees remains the foremost priority.
This collective appeal from the Chief Minister and religious leaders sends a strong message to prioritize discipline, safety, and administrative compliance during this massive congregation of faith.
