Lucknow: For the first time, students Phunsuk, Kunkhena, Rinzin, and their friends from Leh’s Nyoma Tehsil visited Lucknow. Their trip to the UP Darshan Park in Gomtinagar became a memorable experience as they interacted with children from the Sarvodaya School, operated by the Social Welfare Department.
Breaking the Ice
Initially shy, the students from Leh and Lucknow hesitated to converse. However, they soon broke the ice and began discussing their lifestyles, school education, and various other topics. The Sarvodaya School students enthusiastically explained the significance of the park’s art installations, captivating the attention of their guests. As they explored the park together, the students not only learned about Uttar Pradesh but also gained insights into the state’s rich art and cultural heritage.
Part of the Bharat Darshan Program
The students from Leh are part of the Bharat Darshan Program, organized under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. The program, conducted by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) as part of its Civic Action Program, aims to introduce students from remote and mountainous regions to India’s art, culture, and education system.
A delegation of 26 students and two teachers from Nyoma Tehsil, Union Territory of Ladakh, has come to Uttar Pradesh under this initiative. As part of their visit, the Social Welfare Minister, Shri Asim Arun, arranged their trip to the UP Darshan Park.
Minister’s Interaction with the Students
Social Welfare Minister Shri Asim Arun and his wife, Smt. Jyotsana Arun, personally attended the event. They interacted with the children, discussing various topics and encouraging cultural exchange.
This unique initiative not only enriched the visiting students’ understanding of Uttar Pradesh’s diversity but also fostered a bond between children from different parts of India, highlighting the essence of unity in diversity.
