Khel Se Khushi Brings Sports Access and Community Engagement to Barabanki

Barabanki | “Khel Se Khushi: Sports for Youth,” an initiative to promote sports and strengthen community wellbeing, was successfully held at the Satrikh Mini Stadium, bringing together children, adolescents, community members, and key stakeholders to celebrate sports and inclusion.

The initiative is led by CII Foundation, with the support of Hell Energy and in collaboration with TaraSri Foundation.

The program commenced with a welcome and introduction by Vibha, Founder, TaraSri Foundation, along with Ipsha Singh, setting the context for strengthening youth development through accessible sports infrastructure. This was followed by a cultural performance, “Armaan Hoon Main,” by fellowship participants, creating an inspiring start to the day.

The event was graced by Akanksha Gupta, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Barabanki, and  Preeti Verma, Block Development Officer (BDO), Harkh Block, who encouraged children and adolescents to actively engage in sports for holistic development.

A key highlight was the inauguration of sports facilities at the stadium, along with the distribution of sports kits covering volleyball, cricket, badminton, basketball, and table tennis, aimed at strengthening access to structured sports infrastructure. The event also featured the Tara Memorial Table Tennis Championship, where participants competed enthusiastically, reflecting strong sportsmanship and inclusion. Winners were awarded trophies, while other participants received certificates.

Further strengthening the initiative’s impact, sports kits were formally handed over to participants, enabling continued engagement in sports and promoting regular physical activity.

Sunil Misra, CEO, CII Foundation, emphasized the importance of sports in youth development and shared that India’s aspiration to host the Olympics in 2036 can be supported through such grassroots efforts. The program also featured remarks by  Atul Kumar Singh, Director, Ganpati Agro, and concluded with closing remarks by  Alok Shukla, Director & UP State Head, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The “Khel Se Khushi: Sports for Youth” initiative aims to enable equitable access to sports, build confidence and life skills among children and adolescents, with a strong focus on increasing the participation of girls, and foster community engagement through structured platforms—contributing to holistic grassroots development in Barabanki.
