Dhaka: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia reached the US Embassy and completed the process of her visa application. She is getting a visa at a time when Donald Trump won the US presidential election earlier this month. Trump will take oath as President on January 20 next year.
Khaleda is suffering from many health problems
According to the Daily Star newspaper, people associated with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said that all necessary arrangements have been made to send the 79-year-old former prime minister abroad for special treatment. Khaleda may go to Britain next month and from there to the US or Germany. She is suffering from many problems related to liver, kidney, heart, lungs and eyes.
BNP chief Khaleda got a big relief in a corruption case recently. The High Court acquitted her. A Dhaka court had sentenced her to seven years in jail in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case in 2018.
