New Delhi – As India and Russia mark the 25th anniversary of their strategic cooperation, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov highlighted the milestones and achievements of the bilateral relationship during a seminar at the Vivekananda International Foundation.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Alipov detailed major successes in trade, science and technology, humanitarian initiatives, and defense collaboration. He emphasized advancements in cooperative space exploration, Arctic research, and military-technical partnerships, along with energy security initiatives, particularly the peaceful use of nuclear technology.

The seminar also acknowledged the upcoming 15th anniversary of the countries’ elevation to a “special and privileged strategic partnership,” to be celebrated at the 23rd Bilateral Summit later this year. Other notable speakers included Dr. Arvind Gupta, Ambassador D. Bala Venkatesh Varma, and Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla. The Russian Embassy also organized a display showcasing the history of India-Russia strategic relations for attendees from political, academic, and media circles.

Ambassador Alipov confirmed that preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India are underway, describing the agenda as “comprehensive” with a focus on economics, defense, and new technologies. The visit, expected in early December, will also involve Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov traveling to India to finalize agreements ahead of the summit.

The upcoming visit and the anniversary celebrations underscore the enduring diplomatic, economic, and strategic partnership between Moscow and New Delhi.
