Chhatarpur: After the completion of the Lok Sabha elections in the political heat and dust of 2024, there has been a big change in the political picture of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Somewhere assembly seats have become vacant, somewhere elections will also be held on Rajya Sabha seats. Along with the ruling BJP, Congress has also started making its strategy. In such a situation, one seat has become a topic of much discussion. That is the Rajya Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh, which has become vacant after Jyotiraditya Scindia won the Lok Sabha elections. Now a by-election is to be held on this vacant seat. In such a situation, the question is who will replace Jyotiraditya Scindia from the BJP? The names of the contenders have started coming out.
This seat is certain to go to BJP
If we look at the number of members in the current assembly in Madhya Pradesh, then the Rajya Sabha seat that is going to be vacant is again considered certain to go to the account of BJP. BJP is planning to send a senior leader to Rajya Sabha from this seat. Earlier, in the Rajya Sabha elections held in Madhya Pradesh in February 2024, BJP played Dalit, OBC and women card. This time also, no general category leader of Madhya Pradesh has got representation in the Union Cabinet. In such a situation, this time it is being speculated that this post can be filled from Thakur or Brahmin quota.
Former MP KP Yadav ahead in the race
However, Jyotiraditya Scindia was given the ticket by cutting the ticket of former MP KP Yadav from Guna Lok Sabha seat. During the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister Amit Shah has indicated in a meeting in Ashoknagar to take former MP KP Yadav to Delhi. From this, it is being speculated that BJP can give Rajya Sabha ticket to Yadav. In such a situation, the first claim is of KP’s name is quite a buzzword, but he comes from OBC category.
These people have gone to Rajya Sabha in April
It is worth noting that the term of 5 Rajya Sabha MPs from Madhya Pradesh ended on 2 April 2024. Four BJP MPs in it were Dharmendra Pradhan, Dr. L Murugan, Ajay Pratap Singh and Kailash Soni, while Rajmani Patel of Congress was Rajya Sabha MP. Then BJP nominated Banshilal Gurjar from OBC, Umesh Nath Maharaj from Dalit community and Maya Narolia from women’s quota on 3 out of 4 seats and sent them to Rajya Sabha.
Dr. Murugan was again sent to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh’s quota. This time, according to the caste equation, Thakur or Brahmin can be given a chance.
Names doing the rounds
Former minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, prominent name of Ram Mandir campaign former minister Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya and former MP Ramakant Bhargava, who left the seat from Vidisha for Shivraj Singh Chouhan, are at the top. If the general card does not work, then the name of former KP Yadav will be considered.
