IKEA India Store in Noida to ring in big business

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone of the IKEA India store to be set up in Noida through virtual medium at his official residence. This project of IKEA Group’s investment of Rs 5,500 crore in Uttar Pradesh includes IKEA retail store, hotel, space for offices and a shopping center. More than 9,000 people will get employment from this project.

The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is a state of unlimited potential. The possibilities of development of the state are in the interest of the world including India. In the last seven and a half years, Uttar Pradesh has played a big role in earning the trust of investors from the country and the world.

IKEA India is one of those investors. In line with the intention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this investment will prove helpful in taking Uttar Pradesh forward as the largest economy of the country and will also provide opportunities for new employment possibilities to the youth.

The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in the country by population. Uttar Pradesh is currently contributing 9.2 percent to India’s economy. Uttar Pradesh is rapidly progressing as the second largest economy of the country and is the growth engine of the country’s development. Uttar Pradesh is a big market in itself and the country’s youngest population resides here, which is full of energy and talent. The state government is also increasing employment generation activities along with investment.

Uttar Pradesh has entered a new era of development and investment in the last 07 years. In these 07 years, the state government has started many programs for infrastructure development, developing new investment possibilities, skill development of youth and promoting and encouraging traditional products. Today its results are in front of us all. To promote traditional products, the state government started the innovative scheme of ‘One District One Product’, which has emerged as a popular scheme in the country today.

As a result of the excellent law and order situation in the state and the reforms and efforts made for ease of doing business, today Uttar Pradesh has emerged as an excellent destination for investment. The unemployment rate in the state has come down. The state is receiving new investment proposals. With 27 sectoral policies of various sectors, Uttar Pradesh is taking the country’s development forward.

The Chief Minister said that Gautam Buddha Nagar district is known for the best infrastructure in the country. Along with the best law and order, the area of ​​Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority of Uttar Pradesh is taking forward the best services of public transport. People will also start getting the facilities of Noida International Airport by the end of this year. This area is also very important from the point of view of logistics. The junction of Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridor is also in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

Swedish Ambassador John Thesleff, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ and CEO of IKEA India Suzanne Pulverer also expressed their views at the event venue in Noida.

MSME Minister  Rakesh Sachan, Minister of State for Industrial Development Jaswant Singh Saini, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and other senior officials were present on this occasion.

It is noteworthy that to make Uttar Pradesh the center of modern urban life, Ingka Group is going to start its second meeting place in India named Likee Noida in Noida, whose foundation stone was laid by the Chief Minister through virtual medium today. Ingka Group includes IKEA Retail and Ingka Investments in this project. This project is one of the largest projects in Delhi, NCR. Likee Noida will be spread over an area of ​​47,833 square meters with the attraction of IKEA store. This meeting place will meet the needs of modern urban residents as well as provide a platform for sharing food, hospitality, co-working space, entertainment and cultural experiences.
