Prayagraj – As the much-awaited Maha Kumbh draws closer, revered saints and seers have begun arriving in Maha Kumbhnagar. The extensive arrangements made by the Yogi Government have garnered widespread appreciation, including praise from Govardhan Math Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshjanand Devtirth.
Swami Adhokshjanand expressed admiration for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, describing him as a “sadhak” (ascetic) who personally oversees preparations, inspiring faith and confidence among devotees. He noted that the conducive atmosphere created for spiritual practices, including meditation, rituals, and penance, would bring blessings to the state and the Chief Minister himself. “All saints and mahants will offer special prayers for CM Yogi’s prosperity, honor, and bright future,” he said.
A Governance Aligned with Sanatan Dharma
Swami Adhokshjanand emphasized the significance of a leadership that values Sanatan Dharma, contrasting it with past regimes that disregarded religious rituals. “Today, we see a governance that respects our traditions and beliefs,” he remarked. He highlighted the importance of devotion and humility, stating that pilgrimage sites welcome only those with a sincere heart, not arrogance.
The Shankaracharya lauded CM Yogi’s efforts to uphold the dignity of saints and seers, pledging to pray for the state’s prosperity and spiritual upliftment. “When demonic tendencies rise, divine forces emerge to protect Sanatan Dharma,” he added, expressing hope that the Maha Kumbh would empower believers worldwide.
Innovations in the Maha Kumbh
A unique feature of this year’s Maha Kumbh is the introduction of banana-leaf mats brought from Assam. Swami Adhokshjanand’s camp in Sector 18 has already received 151 such mats, crafted by drying and assembling banana tree bark. These mats will serve as key elements in the rituals and ceremonies conducted during the event. Additionally, large quantities of coconuts and raw betel nuts from the Northeast have been transported for use in the Yagyashala.
The Shankaracharya explained that this is the first time such mats are being used in the Maha Kumbh, making them a major attraction. These traditional elements highlight the rich cultural heritage and spiritual significance of the event.
Completion of Remaining Works
In a recent review meeting, State Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma directed officials to ensure the timely completion of all pending tasks. Infrastructure, sanitation, and safety measures are being prioritized to accommodate millions of devotees expected at the holy gathering.
Swami Adhokshjanand called for collaborative efforts from citizens, saints, and officials to fulfill the vision of a “Clean Maha Kumbh – Clean Prayagraj.” He stressed the importance of preserving cultural symbols and lauded the government’s commitment to ensuring a seamless and spiritually enriching experience for all participants.
Celebration of Faith
The Maha Kumbh, set to begin soon, promises to be a grand celebration of faith and devotion. With innovative arrangements, the participation of revered saints, and the steadfast support of the Yogi Government, the event is set to resonate deeply with millions of pilgrims from across the world.
