The event, attended by grandparents of children from toddlers to class IV, showcased the theme “Journey through Generations,” capturing the essence of familial bonds and the invaluable role grandparents play in our lives.
The program was meticulously planned and executed, starting with a warm welcome to the grandparents, who arrived adorned in their finest cultural attires.
The sight of grandmothers and grandfathers in traditional wear added a vibrant and nostalgic touch to the occasion, setting the perfect stage for the day’s festivities.
The children of class IV took center stage with their remarkable enactment of scenes from the Ramayan. Their performance was not only a testament to their acting skills but also a beautiful homage to the rich cultural heritage passed down through generations. The audience was captivated by the children’s portrayal of the epic, which was both moving and educational.
Revered Chief Guest Sanyukta Bhatia added stars in the program by her warm presence and her golden words. In her address, .Sanyukta Bhatia emphasized that the grandparents are the deeply embedded roots supporting and guiding their family members in every walk of life.
She told the grandparents to narrate moral based stories to their grandchildren so that they follow their culture. Sanyukta Bhatia also emphasized that schools should educate students to keep the city clean and spread the same message to others. Sanyukta Bhatia also honoured the grandparents with mesmerizing titles for their attire representing different states of India reflecting harmony across cultures.
Following the Ramayan scenes, the program took the audience on a delightful journey through the performances by young Goenkans on ” Lakdi ki kathi” and “Ichak dana” .
Further, songs like ” Aaj kal tere mere pyaar ke charche” and “Chahe koi mujhe Junglee kahe” were a massive hit. This segment was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, filled with music, dance, and fashion from those decades. The grandparents, in particular, enjoyed this part of the program, reminiscing about their own youth and sharing stories with their grandchildren.
One of the highlights of the event was a role play performed by students from class II to IV, depicting the significance of grandparents in a child’s life. The young actors showcased various scenarios where grandparents played pivotal roles, from storytelling and teaching life lessons to offering unconditional love and support. Director of school, Ms. Neha Goel, took the opportunity to thank the grandparents for attending the event and shared her thoughts on the importance of their intricate roles in shaping a child’s future. She emphasized how grandparents, with their wisdom and experience, contribute significantly to the upbringing and moral development of children.
Headmistress, Shaily Dawra also addressed the gathering, highlighting the vitality of moral values and their importance in each child’s life.
