Lucknow: On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day, former Governor Ram Naik extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh. He also conveyed his best wishes to North Indians residing outside the state for their livelihood.
Naik, during his tenure as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, had proposed celebrating the state’s foundation day annually. Acting on his suggestion, the Yogi Adityanath-led government decided to officially commemorate Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day on January 24 each year. The celebration was first officially organized in 2018, marking a significant milestone for the state.
In the inaugural year, the Yogi government launched the ambitious ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) scheme during the Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations. This initiative has played a pivotal role in boosting the state’s revenue while benefiting small-scale producers and artisans across various districts.
Ram Naik applauded Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his government for consistently organizing the Foundation Day celebrations over the past eight years. He emphasized that the successful implementation of such initiatives deserves commendation, as it reflects the government’s commitment to promoting local artisans and fostering economic growth in the state.
The celebration of Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day has now become a tradition, highlighting the state’s culture, heritage, and developmental achievements, and continues to inspire pride among its citizens.
