Varanasi: The number of devotees visiting Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple is increasing continuously. This year, the number of devotees coming in the last five months has not only broken the record, but Baba Vishwanath’s income has also recorded a record increase of 33 percent.
As compared to the devotees coming to visit Kashi Mahadev in five months from January to May 2023, there has been an increase of 48.23 percent in the number of Shiva devotees coming to take darshan in the same period of the year 2024.
It is believed that the number of devotees taking darshan benefits is continuously increasing due to increased facilities in the court of Shri Baba Vishwanath. Good connectivity with other cities has also increased the religious tourism of Kashi.
Vishwabhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust told an agency that from January 1 to May 31, 2023, 1,93,32,791 devotees had darshan of Baba. Whereas, in the year 2024, from January 1 to May 31, a total of 2,86,57,473 devotees reached Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham to pay their respects at Baba’s doorstep. As compared to 2023, 93,24,682 more devotees arrived in the year 2024.
According to him, Baba’s income has also increased by 33 percent during this period. On 13 December 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Since then, till June 16, 16.46 crore devotees have paid obeisance at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. On the instructions of the Yogi government, special attention is taken to the convenience of the devotees in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
