Lucknow: Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Jayant Chaudhary and State Minister of State for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Kapil Dev Agarwal on Thursday participated in the felicitation ceremony of the trainees trained under Skill India Mission under the campaign “Kushal Bharat Vikasit Bharat: Creation of Developed India with Youth Power of New India” at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in the capital Lucknow by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India. He honored the students trained through various schemes and programs.
Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary assured to fulfill any demand of the Uttar Pradesh government without delay. He said that information about training programs can be easily obtained on the Skill India website and the youth receiving training under the Skill India Mission should also inspire other people of the society. 60,000 people have been trained through apprenticeship in Uttar Pradesh and a target has been set to train 3 lakh people this year. Approval has been given for the construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Banda. The length of National Highway in Uttar Pradesh was 7,986 km in 2014, which has increased to 12,292 km in 2023. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), 21.60 lakh people have been trained in Uttar Pradesh, out of which 16.87 lakh have completed certification. Under the latest version of the scheme, 4.61 lakh candidates have been enrolled and 205 job fairs have been organized, in which 64,589 candidates have been shortlisted.
State Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agarwal said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the youth of the state are being provided employment and self-employment opportunities by making them skilled. The aim is to make the youth a partner in the economic development of the state by giving them skill training and to make the trained youth self-reliant by providing them employment. The productivity of the young manpower has an important place in achieving the target of 1 trillion dollar economy of the state.
The Skill Development Minister said that the Yogi government has made a provision of Rs 200 crore for the operation of Skill Development Mission and Rs 100 crore for Project Praveen through the supplementary budget. So far, more than 17 lakh 50 thousand youth have been trained and about 6 lakh 50 thousand youth have been given employment. In the current year, more than 1 lakh 65 thousand youth have been given employment.
The Skill Development Minister said that in collaboration and coordination with the Secondary Education Department, students of classes 9 to 12 studying in government secondary schools are being given free vocational training along with regular classes. In the year 2023-2024, 43,200 students of 315 schools have been given free skill training.
The Skill Development Minister said that a special action plan has been prepared for training in newly emerging sectors with high employment potential like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Cloud Computing, Green Jobs, Telecom Sector etc. Preparation of DSDP (District Skill Development Plan) in each district to identify local needs and employment possibilities so that the youth can get employment at the local level after training.
