Lucknow: Urban Development and Energy Minister of Uttar Pradesh, A.K. Sharma said that to bring the power system of the state back on track, all the electricity personnel should discharge their duties with full responsibility. Take the complaints of consumers seriously, be sensitive in resolving the complaints, do not take advantage of the helplessness of the people, but cooperate by being sympathetic in their troubles.
Also, ensure quality disposal of the complaints received in 1912. Make such a system that no problem arises. He said that all the personnel should remain in touch with their regional public representatives, work seriously on the suggestions and issues given by them.
Energy Minister A.K. Sharma was reviewing the electricity works with all the Discoms at the Urban Bodies Directorate, Lucknow. He instructed all the MDs to take vigilance action to stop electricity theft in those areas of Discom, especially in urban feeders, where there is 60 to 70 percent line loss. Also take strict action against the electricity personnel involved in electricity theft. Those who steal electricity and those who get it done should not avoid action.
Pay full attention to places where line loss is high. People involved in electricity theft are causing loss to the department’s revenue, this will not be accepted now. Put a complete check on electricity theft and focus on increasing revenue. Take action against big defaulters, also motivate consumers to pay electricity bills on time, be cautious and serious towards complaints so that no innocent person is harassed in any kind of action.
The Energy Minister said that in the last 02 years, this time the maximum complaints were received during the rainy season, power cuts should be stopped, electricity should be supplied to all areas as per the scheduled schedule. All works should be done during the shutdown taken for electricity works, especially in rural areas, electricity works should be done at the time of shutdown. People are troubled by tripping and low voltage, tripping is also happening in nearby areas like Gomtinagar and Indiranagar of Lucknow, electricity personnel have made such arrangements, this should be stopped soon.
Wherever the feeder or transformer is overloaded, efforts should be made to increase the load. Our system should not cause problems to the right consumers. The meter reader should provide the correct bill to the consumers on time, there should be no delay in giving electricity connection, provide electricity connection to everyone on time as per the rules.
The Energy Minister said that the electrical material required for the private tube well connection of the farmers should be supplied on time. When the transformer burns, it should be repaired on time, for this the workshop should be run properly, wherever possible, in such a situation, trolley transformer should be installed and power supply should be restored.
He said that due to the complaints of consumers not being resolved at the local level, people are coming to Lucknow and registering complaints at the Minister’s residence. The information of the complaints of consumers should reach the Managing Director of Discom, Chief Engineer of the zone to the junior engineer. For this, WhatsApp groups should be created at all Discom, zone and district levels to take immediate cognizance of the complaints and solve them, on which complete information should be given from the occurrence of the problem to its solution. He directed that public hearing should be done at all levels under the ‘Sambhav’ portal and the complaints received in the public hearing should be taken seriously and resolved.
The Energy Minister drew attention to some serious complaints and said that such is the situation at present.
Power Corporation Chairman Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal said in the meeting that the power system of the state has to be improved. All officers should ensure that the power supply in their areas is better. He directed that power disruptions should be fixed in the shortest possible time.
In the review, 14 points of commercial and technical were reviewed. Which included assisted billing, never paid consumers, IDF cases, 100% double metering on consumers above 10 KV, vigilance strategy to prevent power theft, correct billing, instant and investment friend and RDSS and measures being taken for better power supply.
The Chairman said that we have to provide the correct reading bill to all the consumers on time. Therefore, it should be ensured that the meter reading is done correctly and the consumers get it on time. All the officers should also go with the meter reader and take the reading.
