Bareilly: A meeting of the Nath Nagari Corridor Project was held in the auditorium of the Commissionerate under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Saumya Agarwal.
The Nath Corridor is being developed in a length of 32 km connecting 7 major Shiva temples of Bareilly. It was informed in the meeting that an amount of Rs 75 crore has been approved under the project for the development of tourism facilities at 7 Shiva temples and installation of signage, focus wall, map locator etc. on the Nath Corridor project route.
Apart from the development of tourist facilities at the temples, the 32 km long Nath Corridor route is also to be beautified under the project. In this regard, the Divisional Commissioner directed in the meeting that the Nath Corridor should be divided into 7 zones and one zone should be developed on a Shiva based theme.
Under the project, instructions were given to prepare a site-wise work plan for doing wall painting based on the concept of Shiva on the walls of private and government institutions/departments, building focus walls at various places and landscaping, lighting and painting under the over bridges.
Instructions were also given to develop the intersections and rotaries on the corridor route on the basis of Shiva symbols. Instructions were also given to make efforts to ensure public participation in the development of the concept of Nath Corridor. Instructions were also given to connect the eminent citizens, entrepreneurs and various government and non-government institutions of the city for the maintenance of the development works being done under the Nath Corridor.
By ensuring public participation in the project, the general public will be connected to the project and people will also cooperate in the maintenance and conservation of the project. In the meeting, it was also instructed that various works to be done zone-wise should be identified and department-wise responsibility should be fixed for completing them so that the project can be developed in an integrated manner. Instructions were also given to hold a review meeting again with all the concerned departments after a week along with the action plan of the entire work.
District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar, BDA Vice President Manikandan A and officials of Electricity Department, Public Works Department, Cantonment Board, Tourism Department, Municipal Corporation were present in the meeting.
