Dev Deepawali 2025: CM Yogi Says Festival to Reflect Global Message of Faith, Culture and Clean Kashi Vision

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for Dev Deepawali 2025, scheduled to be held on November 5 in Varanasi. He described the festival as an extraordinary confluence of Sanatan tradition, devotion to the Ganga, and people’s faith, and emphasized that this year’s celebrations should embody the spirit of “Clean Kashi, Green Kashi, Divine Kashi.”

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all arrangements for Ganga Mahotsav (November 1–4) and Dev Deepawali are timely, well-coordinated, and of top quality. The ghats will be illuminated with smart lighting, floral décor, theme-based installations, laser shows, and green fireworks, creating a spectacular divine atmosphere along the Ganga.

Yogi emphasized that crowd management, security, sanitation, and smooth traffic flow must remain top priorities. He ordered round-the-clock control room monitoring, medical and emergency facilities near ghats, and life jackets and registration tags for boatmen.

The CM also reviewed plans for laser shows, sand art installations, and eco-friendly firework displays at Chet Singh and Kashi Vishwanath ghats. He stressed on active participation of local artists, schools, women’s groups, and religious leaders, making Dev Deepawali a festival of faith, discipline, and national pride.

“Dev Deepawali should reflect the soul of Indian spirituality and serve as a global message of harmony and devotion,” Yogi said, adding that visitors must experience the true essence of ‘Atithi Devo Bhavah’ through Kashi’s purity, order, and divine glow.
