Lucknow: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West, Vishwajeet Srivastava, inspected Mehdi Ghat in Thakurganj ahead of the Bajre (Nau) event scheduled for February 13. He reviewed the security arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe event.
Special security measures have been put in place to prevent any untoward incidents. Several police personnel, along with security boards, will be deployed in the Gomti River as a precautionary measure.
The event, organized by the Shia community according to the Islamic calendar, is observed on the 14th and 15th of Shaban. Preparations at Mehdi Ghat are in full swing to accommodate the large gathering expected.
Authorities have assured that all necessary security arrangements have been made to ensure the event is conducted peacefully.
