Lucknow: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South Zone, Nipun Agarwal, conducted a thorough inspection of security arrangements at crowded areas and malls in anticipation of New Year celebrations. Accompanied by a police team, the DCP visited several key locations to ensure public safety and preparedness against potential disruptions during the festive season.
The inspection focused on evaluating the readiness of security measures, including the operational status of CCTV cameras installed at strategic points. DCP Agarwal issued necessary instructions to concerned authorities to rectify any shortcomings and enhance the monitoring framework.
“We are committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for citizens during the New Year festivities. Regular inspections and immediate action on identified issues are integral to this goal,” DCP Agarwal remarked during the inspection.
Public spaces such as malls, markets, and other high-footfall zones were emphasized as part of the review. The police department also urged business establishments to cooperate by maintaining functional surveillance systems and adhering to safety protocols.
In light of the expected crowd surge, additional personnel deployment and patrolling have been planned to prevent untoward incidents and manage traffic effectively. Citizens have been encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the police to aid in maintaining law and order.
With proactive measures in place, Lucknow’s police force is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a peaceful and joyous New Year celebration for all.
