Lucknow: For monitoring the distribution of tablets/smartphones under Swami Vivekanand Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Managing Director, UPDESCO in the auditorium of UPDESCO, Lucknow, the nodal institution of the scheme, in which representatives of the departments covered by the scheme such as Higher Education/Vocational Education and Skill Development/Medical Education/Technical Education/Disabled Empowerment/Culture/Basic Education Department etc. were present.
In this meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the responsibilities of the departments covered by the scheme, the responsibilities of the Information Department, the actions to be taken by the departments on the DigiShakti portal. Along with this, the progress of the departments under the scheme was reviewed.
In the meeting, all the representatives present were again informed that as per the currently set priority for distribution of tablet PCs and smartphones, it is to be ensured that the equipment is made available to the beneficiaries from the last year to the first year of any course studying in the state by following the procedure through the DigiShakti portal in a phased manner. All departments were expected to motivate the beneficiaries studying in their respective institutions to make proper use of the distributed equipment so that they can receive the proper benefits of the scheme and the youth of the state can become technically empowered.
