Lucknow: The Lucknow Commissioner of Police has initiated a citywide crackdown on illegal gas refilling activities following the recent explosion in the Dubagga area, which raised serious safety concerns across the city. The Commissioner has directed all Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) to take immediate and strict action against illegal gas refilling operations to prevent further incidents.
In response, the Bazar Khala Police, under the leadership of Station Officer Santosh Kumar Arya, conducted a swift operation in the West Zone, targeting a hub of illegal gas refilling activity. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a site in the Bazar Khala area, where unauthorized gas cutting and refilling were taking place.
Items Recovered
The operation led to the seizure of the following items used in the illegal gas refilling setup:
- 15 large gas cylinders
- 07 small gas cylinders
- 02 large weighing scales
- 02 small digital weighing scales
- 02 big refilling kits
- 01 wrench
- 01 pliers
The police also detained individuals involved in the operation. A supply inspector was called to the spot to assist in the legal proceedings, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and proper handling of the recovered items.
Commissioner’s Directive
The Commissioner of Police has emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in illegal gas refilling, as such activities pose severe risks to public safety. The DCPs of all zones have been instructed to increase surveillance and conduct regular raids on suspected locations where illegal gas refilling might be taking place.
