Cops take an oath to uphold values of democracy

Sultanpur: In observance of National Voter’s Day, a special oath-taking ceremony was organized today at the Police Headquarters, where all officers and staff members took an oath to uphold the values of democracy and to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election process. The event was presided over by  Akhand Pratap Singh, the Additional Superintendent of Police, who led the oath-taking by reciting the pledge.

The ceremony began with  Singh addressing the officers and staff members at the Police Headquarters. During his speech, he emphasized the importance of voting as a fundamental constitutional right and urged everyone to actively participate in the electoral process. He read the oath that each officer and employee took, affirming their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the democratic process and ensuring that elections remain free, fair, and peaceful.

Simultaneously, similar ceremonies were conducted at all police stations within the district. Officers and staff at each station were administered the same oath, expressing their full faith in the democratic system and pledging to uphold the sanctity of the election process.

The main objective of the oath-taking ceremony was to raise awareness among the officers and staff about their constitutional rights and responsibilities and to encourage active participation in the democratic process. By taking the oath, all participants reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling their duties with integrity, fairness, and transparency.

Singh also addressed the staff, stressing the significance of voter awareness and ensuring active participation in the electoral process. “Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve its dignity. Every citizen, including us, must contribute to upholding the values of democracy, especially by ensuring the participation of voters and maintaining the transparency and fairness of elections,” he remarked.

The ceremony concluded with a call to action, urging all officers and staff members to take an active role in educating voters and ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted smoothly and with full participation.
