Lucknow: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath discussed the progress made so far and future plans during an important meeting with the resolve to make the state a $1 trillion economy. During this, various ministers, senior officials, advisors and experts were present. The Chief Minister reviewed the work being done in all 10 major sectors and consulting agency Deloitte India gave detailed information on the current economic status of the state and possible future results.
UP’s economy has made a strong position in 7 years
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that due to planned efforts in the last 7 years, the economy of the state is in its best position. He informed that the GDP of Uttar Pradesh in 2021-22 was ₹ 16.45 lakh crore, which has increased to more than ₹ 25.48 lakh crore in 2023-24. The GSDP target for this financial year is ₹ 32 lakh crore, which is expected to be completed with the cooperation of the state. The Chief Minister said that the GDP and per capita income of the state have doubled in these years. The CM said that UP is now becoming the growth engine of development by becoming the second largest economy of the country.
Contribution of all departments is important
Yogi Adityanath said that the role of all departments is important to achieve the target of a 1 trillion dollar economy. He stressed on the need for all departments to intensify their efforts and regular monitoring. For this, instructions were given to nominate nodal officers in every department and hold regular review meetings.
Boom in agriculture and manufacturing sector
The Chief Minister mentioned the fast growth rate in agriculture and manufacturing sector. He said that there is a need to improve the seed ecosystem in agriculture and increase efforts for crop diversification. Also, he talked about giving more impetus to reforms in the manufacturing sector and efforts for ease of doing business.
Need to increase private and public investment
CM Yogi said that there is a need to further increase private and public investment to achieve the target of 1 trillion dollar economy. He directed to continue dialogue with investors and make the single window system more transparent.
Improvement in energy, tourism and IT sector also
Yogi Adityanath said that work is being done keeping in mind the future needs in the energy, tourism and IT sectors. He directed to take concrete steps to promote solar energy and improve public facilities at tourist places like Ayodhya, Kashi.
Concrete action plan for self-reliant UP
The Chief Minister stressed the need to make a concrete action plan towards making urban bodies and gram panchayats self-reliant. He said that good roads, pure drinking water and better public facilities should be ensured in every village and town. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh has unlimited potential and with the right policy and efforts of the government, the dream of making the state a $1 trillion economy will be fulfilled.
