CM Yogi lashes whip against negligence and corruption, 28 Consolidation officers punished

Lucknow: Yogi government’s whip continues against misuse of power, negligence in work and corruption. After CM Yogi’s strict stand, the process of action against careless officers one after the other in the Consolidation Department continues.

In this sequence, on the instructions of CM Yogi, more than two dozen consolidation officers of eight divisions have been punished for delay, negligence, irregularity in settlement of consolidation related cases. In this, suspension, explanation and disciplinary action have been taken against 13 settlement officers of consolidation.

At the same time, instructions have been given to remove a Deputy Director Consolidation Officer from the post, while a Deputy Director Consolidation Officer has been asked to explain on negligence. Similarly, disciplinary action has been taken against a consolidation officer, an explanation has been sought along with stopping the salary of an Assistant Consolidation Officer.

Apart from this, disciplinary action was taken against three Assistant Consolidation Officers. Not only this, a proposal for a 20 percent cut in pension was sent to the government by a retired Assistant Consolidation Officer for irregularities in service. Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen said that as per the wishes of CM Yogi, a review meeting of the department is held from time to time to curb corruption under the zero tolerance policy. In this sequence, in the recent review meeting, negligence, irregularities and activities involved in corruption were found in the work of many officers. Its report was sent to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on which instructions were given to take strict action against all. In this sequence, action was taken against the consolidation officers of eight divisions Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Basti, Ayodhya and Devipatan.

In these, Pawan Kumar Singh, Shriprakash Chandra Uttam, Rakesh Kumar, Suresh Kumar Sagar, Manohar Lal and Swatantra Veer Singh Yadav, Settlement Officer Consolidation of Bareilly, Hardoi, Lalitpur, Unnao, Chitrakoot and Jaunpur have been summoned for answer for not making expected progress in consolidation works. At the same time, Pratapgarh’s Deputy Director Consolidation/Chief Revenue Officer Rakesh Kumar Gupta has been asked for an explanation for not discharging supervisory responsibilities, while a letter has been written to the Appointment Department to remove Gorakhpur’s Deputy Director Consolidation Officer Raj Narayan Tripathi from the post for not providing information regarding the progress of work.

At the same time, a proposal has been sent to the government by retired Assistant Consolidation Officer Ramesh Pal Singh Rana to cut his pension by 20 percent for irregularities in service.

Kushinagar Settlement Officer suspended for negligence

The Relief Commissioner said that Kushinagar’s Settlement Officer Consolidation Santosh Kumar has been suspended for negligence in work. Also, a letter has been written to the government for departmental action. Apart from this, Varanasi’s Settlement Officer Consolidation Pawan Kumar Sidhu was suspended for not completing the work of village Ajgara targeted under Section 52 and not releasing the transferred Consolidation Lekhpals and disciplinary action was taken against him along with withholding his salary.

Along with this, disciplinary action was taken against Shahjahanpur, Mirzapur, Gorakhpur and Deoria’s settlement officer Consolidation Mohan Lal then, Narendra Singh, Shashikant Shukla and Pawan Pandey respectively for laxity in work. Not only this, Kannauj’s settlement officer Consolidation Dhamendra Singh, Consolidation Officer of Barabanki Shiv Narayan Gupta, Barabanki’s Junior Assistant Umashankar were taken disciplinary action for irregularities in investigation.

Assistant Consolidation Officer Mahendra Singh’s salary was stopped when the work of village Lalauti of Fatehpur was not completed according to the target. Also, an explanation has been sought. Similarly, disciplinary action was taken against Balrampur’s Assistant Consolidation Officer Sandeep Yadav for not completing the work of village Masjidia.

Instructions given to suspend the Consolidator and Consolidation Lekhpal

When the work of village Rajepur Sarai Arjani of Prayagraj and village Dhumi of Pratapgarh was not completed according to the target, the concerned Assistant Consolidation Officer was identified and disciplinary action was taken. When the work of village Tiera in Jaunpur was not completed, disciplinary action was taken against Assistant Consolidation Officer Sanjay Maurya and instructions were given to take departmental action by identifying and suspending the Consolidator and Consolidation Lekhpal.

When the work of village Mahua in Azamgarh was not completed, instructions were given to take clarification from the concerned Assistant Consolidation Officer and to take disciplinary action by determining the responsibility of the Consolidator and Consolidation Lekhpal.
