Gorakhpur: The world of cows has become even richer in Gorakhpeeth, famous across the country for cow service. Punganur cow of Andhra Pradesh, which is included in the rarest breed in the country, has also been brought to the cowshed of Gorakhnath Temple. On Friday morning, when the Punganur breed of cows (heifer and calf) came to the temple’s cowshed, attracting everyone’s attention, Chief Minister and Gorakhpeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath pampered them a lot and fed them jaggery with his own hands.
CM Yogi Adityanath, who came to Gorakhpur on Thursday afternoon, had a traditional routine on Friday morning. He visited and worshipped Guru Gorakhnath in Gorakhnath temple in the morning and went to the samadhi sthal of his guru Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath and bowed his head. Whenever he is in Gorakhnath temple, cow service is an integral part of his daily routine.
But, Friday was a special day from the point of view of cow service. The reason is, a small pair (heifer-calf) of indigenous cows of Punganur breed from Andhra Pradesh has also arrived in the temple’s cowshed. CM Yogi pampered this pair of Punganur breed a lot. While caressing the foreheads of both of them, stroking their necks, he showed affection by saying, ‘Oh my god, you are missing Maai, aren’t you?’ Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kept caressing them emotionally for some time and then fed them with his own hands.
Apart from this, the CM also spent time with other cows in the temple’s cowshed. While roaming around in the cowshed, Yogi called the cows by names like Shyama, Gauri, Ganga, Bhola etc. His voice is familiar to these cows. On hearing the loving call, many cows came running to him. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stroked the forehead of all of them, pampered them and fed them jaggery with his own hands. The Chief Minister took information about the health and nutrition of all the cows from the workers of the Gaushala and gave necessary instructions for their care.
