Gorakhpur :  Gorakshapeethadhiswar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath named two cows, a heifer and a calf, of the Nadipathi miniature breed (a recent variant of the Punganur breed) brought to the Gorakhnath temple from a cowshed in Yeleswaram, Andhra Pradesh. He named the heifer ‘Bhavani’ and the calf ‘Bholu’. After naming the pair of cows brought from the south to the temple’s cowshed, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spent considerable time pampering them. His affection has created a strong bond between the CM and the cows within two days of their arrival.

The Nadipathi miniature breed of cow, recognized as the smallest cow in the world, has been developed through selective breeding of the Punganur breed. Also known as the ‘micro miniature,’ this unique breed was recently introduced to the Gorakhnath Temple, with a calf and a heifer arriving from the Nadipathi Gaushala in Andhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath personally expressed his affection for the cows, feeding them jaggery and fodder with his own hands.

Dr. P. Krishnam Raju, the director of Nadipathi Gaushala and the researcher behind the development of this miniature breed, shared insights into the speciality of these cows with the Chief Minister. After his meeting with CM Yogi, Dr. Krishnam Raju expressed his admiration, saying he was deeply moved by the Chief Minister’s dedication to cow welfare and his genuine love for the animals.
