Central employees also got Diwali gift, DA increased by 3%

New Delhi – The government has given Diwali gift to the farmers of the country. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet just before the festival, the government has approved the increase in the minimum support price (MSP) for 6 Rabi crops.

Issuing a notification, the government said that the MSP for wheat has been increased from Rs 2275 to Rs 2425 per quintal. At the same time, the MSP of barley has been increased from Rs 1850 to Rs 1980 per quintal. In the new MSP rates, the MSP of gram (desi) has been increased by Rs 210 and its new rate will be Rs 5,650 per quintal.

The government has increased the rate of lentil i.e. masoor by Rs 275 and its new MSP rate is Rs 6,700 per quintal. The rate of oilseed crop sunflower seeds has been increased by Rs 140 and its new rate will be Rs 5,940 per quintal.

Apart from this, more than one crore employees and pensioners of the central government have got a gift of three percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the rates of DA.
