Captivating session decodes true meaning of journalism

Lucknow: At Gomti Book Festival, in a session ‘Truth of Tale: Journalism, Storytelling and the Fine Line Between Reality and Fiction’ organized on the Lekhak Manch of Gomti Book Festival, senior journalist and writer  Anil Maheshwari talked about his book based on his journalistic journey and his experiences. He has compiled the stories of journalism and its surroundings in this book. He explained that we should write the untouched stories of the society. He told that in today’s time people do not go to the archives, due to which they do not get a chance to know about journalism and the stories revolving around it. In history, the characters are true but the events are false, whereas in a story, the events are true and the characters are false. He also spoke in detail about his upcoming book on Aligarh.

He concluded his session with the statement that as journalists, journalists should not limit themselves, they should print the truth in a fearless manner. This session was moderated by senior journalist Ratan Mani Lal.
