Lucknow: A special security drill was carried out by the commandos of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in the Lucknow Metro Depot situated at Transport Nagar with an objective to successfully operate the evacuation of commuters in case of hijacking and thwart any terrorist attack. The visit was led by the Operations and Security teams of UPMRC.
The commandos of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) along with security personnel of Lucknow Metro jointly participated in this exercise. The drill mainly centred around activities like retaking control of hijacked Metro train, entering inside the train, evacuating commuters safely and neutralising the terrorists.
The purpose of such drills is to inspect the robustness and readiness of the Security mechanism of the Metro system. The ATS team was satisfied with Lucknow Metro’s preparedness.
The ATS is a highly trained anti-terrorist squad and conducts such drills in UP Metro premises to demonstrate actions to be taken during a crisis.
Apart from this drill, the Security and Operations officers of Lucknow Metro also informed the ATS commandos about the security equipments, SoPs and coordination practices followed by Lucknow Metro.
