Lucknow: A fresh FIR has been registered against the accused involved in the recent sensational shootout at a resto-café in Gomti Nagar. This time, the FIR has been lodged by the Chinhat Police, revealing a disturbing chain of events preceding the firing.
According to police sources, the accused who shot a BBD student had forcibly entered his flat nearly a week prior to the incident. They vandalized the property and looted valuables, including a laptop and other items.
The firing incident, which shook the upscale Gomti Nagar locality, has prompted a flurry of investigations, with police now piecing together the sequence of events leading to the attack. The accused were allegedly tracking the victim for days.
One of the prime accused, Manish Tiwari, who has been arrested, has a criminal past. He was earlier jailed in another case linked to Gomti Nagar and had only recently been released on bail.
Meanwhile, sources indicate that the alleged mastermind of the shootout, named Rishabh Rai, is a known associate of a former strongman MP. Police suspect that Rai orchestrated the attack, and he has now been named as a prime accused.
With multiple cases and a broader conspiracy coming to light, the police have intensified efforts to nab all those involved, as Lucknow reels from the shock of this brazen act of violence.
