Lucknow: Awareness is necessary for the prevention of communicable diseases. The government is constantly making efforts towards the elimination of communicable diseases. Campaigns are being run in different months of the year. From today, teams will go door-to-door to eliminate communicable diseases. This campaign will run for the whole month. This is what Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said.
On the occasion of the launch of the communicable disease campaign at the CHC in Aliganj, capital Lucknow on Tuesday, the Deputy CM said that councilors, social workers and local people have an important role in eliminating communicable diseases including dengue, malaria, chikungunya, kala-azar. The government is trying to make the campaign successful in coordination with 13 departments including health, municipal corporation, village development, LDA, malaria, housing development. It has also been successful to a great extent.
Do not let water accumulate around the house
The Deputy CM has appealed to the people not to let water accumulate inside and outside the house. Keep empty plots etc. clean. Do not let dirt accumulate. Do not fill water in coolers, pots, tires, etc. With this, mosquito breeding can be stopped to a great extent. Pour burnt Mobil Oil or kerosene in the water collected around the house.
There will be fogging, anti-larvae spraying too
The Deputy Chief Minister said that under the campaign, fogging will be done continuously in urban and rural areas. Anti-larvae spraying will be done. A cleanliness drive will be run so that people can be saved from communicable diseases. Health workers will go door-to-door and investigate. They will help in eliminating the larvae grown in the houses. If a dengue-malaria patient is found, the rest of the family members and the people around him will also be tested.
Focus on sensitive areas
The Deputy CM said that sensitive areas should be identified for dengue, malaria and other communicable diseases. Fogging and anti-larvae spraying should be done in these areas. Cleanliness should be done. People should be made aware about prevention from diseases. If a patient of fever etc. is found, a camp should be set up and tests should be conducted.
Do not ignore fever
Do not ignore fever. Consult a doctor immediately. The Deputy CM said that Health and Wellness Centre, Community and Primary Health Centres are being operated in Lucknow. Doctor’s advice, tests and free medicines are being distributed. Do not be negligent in treatment. The disease can be completely controlled with timely tests and treatment. There are enough beds in hospitals to admit dengue patients.
