Lucknow: Urban Development and Energy Minister of Uttar Pradesh, AK Sharma took information from the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner of Varanasi Municipal Corporation about Varanasi’s drainage, sewer system and cleanliness and communicable diseases etc. He said that to make Kashi divine and grand, cleanliness there should be perfect, there should be no waterlogging anywhere in the rainy season, proper arrangements should be made for water drainage. Medicines should be sprayed to protect people from communicable diseases, mosquito-fly borne diseases.
Urban Development Minister AK Sharma was doing a virtual review of the development works of Varanasi Municipal Corporation at the Urban Bodies Directorate. He said that to deal with the problem, take the cooperation of the corporation and regional public representatives as well. The responsibility and accountability of all officers / employees should be fixed, so that problems do not arise anywhere. Jalkal officials should keep the sewer line in good condition. There is a possibility of dirty water getting mixed in the drinking water supply during the rainy season, monitor it continuously. Wherever pits and roads have been dug to repair sewer lines, fill them immediately after the work is completed so that no accident occurs.
