Lucknow: With the success in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is trying his best to cover up the simmering discord in his family. But as time goes on, Akhilesh Yadav’s tension is increasing. The monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature is starting from July 29. By occupying two important posts like National President and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Akhilesh Yadav easily humiliated his uncle Shivpal Yadav in the family.
But now if Shivpal Yadav is sidelined again, he will have to face its effect in the 2027 elections. In the politics of Uttar Pradesh, he was broken after losing four consecutive elections of 2014, 2017, 2019, 2022. Even after the party was snatched from SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav wanted to crush the political power of his uncle Shivpal Yadav. But due to his popularity among the workers and hard work, Akhilesh could not harm Shivpal.
On the contrary, after the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, when his Lok Sabha seat became vacant, he surrendered to Shivpal Yadav to get his wife elected.
Akhilesh Yadav achieved his purpose by putting Dimple Yadav forward. But when it came to giving respect to Shivpal Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav was imposed on him. Shivpal was made the national general secretary and Ram Gopal was made the chief national general secretary. Dharmendra Yadav was made to contest from Azamgarh and Ram Gopal Yadav’s son Akshay Yadav from Firozabad, and Shivpal Yadav and his son Aditya Yadav were given the Badaun Lok Sabha seat. Now Ram Gopal Yadav has two MPs in his house and Shivpal has only one MP who not only established the Samajwadi Party by risking his life for Mulayam Singh, but also sacrificed everything to establish Mulayam Singh Yadav as a leader.
Experts say that Shivpal wanted two separate seats for himself and his son. His plan was to keep Azamgarh himself and his son on another seat. But within a few months of becoming the Chief Minister, what kind of insecurity developed in Akhilesh’s mind about Shivpal Yadav that he started seeing Shivpal Yadav as his enemy number one on the political platform.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has nominated Lal Bahadur Yadav as the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council before the monsoon session starting from July 29. Those who have deep knowledge of the internal infighting of SP believe that Akhilesh Yadav has done this only to stop Shivpal Yadav from the post of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.
According to a popular story about Akhilesh, it is alleged that he takes revenge even if his enemy plays football. Akhilesh, who is always alert about Shivpal Yadav in the party, knows that if the Leader of Opposition is made without Shivpal through the PDA formula, then even the snake will die and the stick will not break. When Akhilesh Yadav was the Leader of Opposition, Shivpal Yadav used to get a place in the front row during the session in the Assembly, but Akhilesh was given a share of the status. The leader of the opposition will be announced in the next few hours or days.
Akhilesh has got a good opportunity to remove Shivpal Yadav as per his strategy. Those who know Shivpal Yadav believe that Shivpal had never become so helpless in politics. Meanwhile, a former MLA supporting Akhilesh Yadav says that if he is concerned about his MP son’s politics, then Shivpal will not take any rebellious step.
