Gonda: The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced Iqbal Bahadur Tiwari as the new district president of Gonda, reinforcing its organizational structure at the grassroots level. A seasoned party worker, Tiwari has previously served as district president from 2006 to 2009 and again from 2012 to 2015. A resident of Parsada in Belsar and associated with the party since the Jan Sangh era, he also served as Belsar Block Pramukh between 2005 and 2010.
The announcement sparked enthusiasm among party workers, who view his appointment as a strategic move based on his experience, strong grassroots connect, and active engagement with cadres.
Tiwari said he would strive to meet the expectations of the party leadership and prioritize strengthening the organization at the booth level.
The post had remained vacant since June 11, 2025, when former district president Amar Kishore Kashyap was removed following a controversy involving a viral video.
