Lucknow: The Shri Jhunjhunu Wali Dadi Ji Doli Utsav, organized by Shri Jhunjhunu Wali Dadi Ji Mitra Mandal, commenced on Sunday with a grand Mangal Kalash Yatra, bringing together hundreds of devotees in a spiritual celebration. The Kalash Yatra began from the Shri Hanuman Temple in the city and witnessed the participation of 311 elegantly adorned women, each carrying a sacred Kalash on their heads.
Dressed in traditional chunari sarees, with mehendi-adorned hands, the women formed a mesmerizing procession that captivated onlookers. As the yatra moved through the streets, chants of “Dadi ki Jai Jaikaar” reverberated in the air. The procession was met with showers of flowers at multiple points, creating an atmosphere of divine fervor.
Devotional Melodies Fill the Air
The highlight of the yatra was the melodious bhajans sung by renowned artists. Sanjay Sharma from Kolkata enthralled the crowd with renditions of “Dadi ka darbar suhana lagta hai” and “Mhari Maiya Jhunjhunu Wali, thari jag mein shaan nirali”, while popular bhajan singer Pawan Mishra moved the devotees with soulful hymns like “O Palan Haari, O Maiya Pyari, Tumhare Bin Hamara Koi Nahi” and “Tere Jaisa Koi Bhi Na Dadi, Tu Deepak Hai, Hum Sab Hain Bati”. Devotees, including Dinesh Medhadut Agarwal, Poonam Agarwal, Mahesh Garg, Jaya Garg, Satish Agarwal, Rupesh Agarwal, Anurag Sahu, Ashish Agarwal, Moni, and Sharad Agarwal, could not resist dancing to the tunes of devotion.
Narayani Manas Path and a Noble Gesture
At 1 PM, a heartfelt recitation of Narayani Manas Path by Poonam Dhanuka Mor captivated the audience with her melodious voice. Over 251 families joined in the collective Mangal Path, turning the entire venue into a sanctum of devotion.
A noble act of kindness marked the celebrations when the committee solemnized the marriages of two underprivileged couples during the fourth chapter of the Narayani Charitra Manas Path, which narrates the marriage of Shri Dadi Ji. This act brought tears of joy to the eyes of many and symbolized the spirit of compassion and service embedded in the event.
311 Women Participate in Kalash Yatra
The Mangal Kalash Yatra was a sight to behold, as 311 married women, adorned in red chunari sarees and performing the solah shringar (16 traditional adornments), carried sacred Kalash on their heads while singing bhajans dedicated to Shri Dadi Ji. The procession, which began at 11 AM, featured five grand chariots, including a child-like tableau of Shri Jhunjhunu Wali Dadi Ji, accompanied by traditional music and instruments.
The grandeur and devotion displayed during the yatra set the tone for the Shri Jhunjhunu Wali Dadi Ji Doli Utsav, filling the city with an aura of spirituality and unity.
